Our History
The establishment of the Muslim Model Educational Trust(MMET) started in 1977 a new era in history of education in Pulwama town and its adjacent villages like Drabgam,Qasba yaar, Akhal,Putrigam, Mitrigam, Kangan, Gulshanabad, Tikken, Sonasamil,Babhara,Trichal, Tahab, Naira, Nownagri, Chandgama,Nohara,Inder, Goudara, Monghama, Ashmandar, sirnoo etc. In this virtual heritage walk we would look at the earliest Muslim Model Educational Trust (MMET). These were the structures which were built in the late 20th century as a part of the MET sapore, with many qissa (anecdotes) associated with the structures, a look at them would be an important way of keeping alive the vibrant culture of the Muslim Model Educational Trust (MMET) witnessed through ages. The area would be looked at will be the earliest known structure of the MET Pulwama. The School grew out of the work of Late Noor Mohammad Samboora the great social reformer and statesman, it was found that it was important for Muslims to gain education and become involved in the public life and government services in district Pulwama Ab. Gani Pandit helped Late Noor Mohammad Samboora in establishing the MMET.
It was one of the first purely unique educational institution set up without thecaste, creed, gender and religion either by the locals of town Pulwama, over the years it gave rise to a new educated class. This educational facility shall remain focussed, committed and dedicated to the most noble and pious cause of Education. Imparting of state of the Quality Education to one and all who get admitted into this facility with special thrust on provision of education to the ones belonging to the category of have-nots, disadvantaged in any manner whatsoever.
One of the aims shall be to develop the personality on all fronts on the pattern of; “In all things be perfect” contribute to the society positively. Help the government in implementing the pro-active purposeful policies.
Moreover it starts its journey from many residential houses and lastly found a permanent place in the vicinity of district hospital Pulwama (opposite to new district hospital Pulwama)
